How to set up a MapleStory guild Discord with LithHQ

LithHQ is a Discord bot for a MapleStory Classic guild. Players type their own characters. It does not connect to the game client, so this setup is entirely inside Discord and the dashboard.

  1. 1Add the bot. A server admin opens Add to Discord and approves View Channels, Send Messages, Embed Links, Read Message History, Use Application Commands, Manage Roles. The bot then posts a setup checklist in the server's system channel when the guild is not set up yet.
  2. 2Run /setup. Enter the guild name and world, pick a timezone, then choose the officer role and the announcement channel. Runs, applications, and reset reminders go to that channel.
  3. 3Run /welcome. Post the welcome message, which has Join the roster and Apply. Optionally turn on a member role and class roles so you can ping a class. Job, level, and achievement roles are separate toggles.
  4. 4Fill the roster and post a run. Members use /register for IGN, level, and job. Officers use /run to schedule a party quest or boss. The free plan includes 30 roster members. Alts do not count.

What the bot is allowed to do

The invite asks only for the permissions the bot uses. It does not ask for Administrator, and it does not read message content, member lists, or presence.

  • View Channels: See the channel it posts runs, welcome, and reminders in.
  • Send Messages: Post runs, the welcome message, applications, and reset reminders.
  • Embed Links: Run, party-finder, and welcome posts are embeds.
  • Read Message History: Edit an existing run or party-finder post when someone clicks a button.
  • Use Application Commands: Slash commands such as /setup, /register, and /run.
  • Manage Roles: Give and remove member, class, job, level, and achievement roles from /welcome.

After the first run

Dashboard Settings is where you set which roles may create runs, manage members, review applications, and change onboarding. The same page holds the public guild page (a blurb, a Recruiting badge, and a Discord invite) and reset reminders.

Reset reminders are not a built-in MapleStory clock. You type a UTC time as HH:MM, choose a daily reminder, a weekly UTC weekday (Sunday, Monday, Tuesday, Wednesday, Thursday, Friday, Saturday), or both, and how many minutes before (5–720). Leave them off if you do not want a post.

Run reminder DMs start at 60 and 15 minutes before the run. Each offset must be a whole number from 1 to 10080.
